The Akraino Community functions as an open source Project, with a set of rules and leaders elected and approved from within the participants of the project. This page serves as a summary of the community governance. The following serve as the official sources for Akraino Governance.

Every year the Akraino Community is required to vote on the technical leadership for the Akraino Project. There are several different areas where voting is relevant. All of these can be found in the Akraino Technical Community Document, including the following:

Who will run the election Process: An Election Coordinator will be designated from within the Akraino Community. The Election Coordinator should be a non-running member. Instructions on how to use the CIVS voting system are available here

Note: Please ensure that both the name and email address for each member is listed on each sub-committee membership wiki page in order to properly set up CIVS voting when required. Not doing so will cause delays for the Election Coordinator in setting up and executing the voting process.
